Motorbikes vs cars
Alright, so me and my friend have an ongoing debate about this, he is a car guy and I am a bike guy.
Just want to here ur opinions on the matter. ( but bikes are still better)

Motorcycles are one of the greatest things ever invented . But there are 2 major downfalls. It rains and they let a a trained monkey drive a car. But there is very little in this world that compares to being within a couple of centimeters off the ground at a physically ridiculous speed.
catch me if you can
As stupid as the “cats or Dogs” debate.
Cats rule.
big grumbely V8’s have the ability to scare the shit outta people. thats always a plus. and its easier to shag a bird on the bonnet of a camaro or charger then on the back of a bike
Alternatively, pop the bike engine in the car…

you are driving aroud just to have fun? i think its biketime! you are driving around transporting things/people, i think its cartime ^^
I’ve got more lifetime miles on two wheels than four. I ride everyday year round minus ice and snow. I like it when it’s cold, when it’s hot, when it’s raining, when it’s dirty and whenever else I’m on the bike.
If you don’t ride in the rain you don’t ride. ![]()
You could bang a chick on a motorbike, it would be interesting. Maybe she sits in the drivers seat and u hop on the back.
And damn that Suzuki is fast!
I’ve got no problems with driving fast, but those guys are idiots for doing that on public streets.
carl cox has a desmo
I knew that. I’ve tried to friend him on facebook, not because of music, but because of bikes. He’s full up on friends though. ![]()
I don’t ride in the rain. I prefer to keep my bike clean, both from dirt and from cosmetic damage. I would say between cars and bikes I definitely put more money and upkeep into my bike then I do the car.
I think another argument that could be made is sport or cruiser? I’ve always ridden sport, but am considering going to a Harley? Not quite convinced to yet though.
2 wheel guy here.
im more of a hovercraft kinda guy myself ![]()
I’ve never had a cruiser. It’s always been sport or dual sport adventure touring stuff. I’ve got a Honda ST1100 right now that works for what I do real well. Honestly I don’t really care as long as I’m riding.
I haven’t had the money for a motorcycle yet, but it’s one of my life ambitions. I’m going to do a rider training school this summer and start saving for a bike. Biggest question is whether I need to start on a 200-300 cc starter bike or if I’ll have self control to jump onto what I really want (ideally ~600-750 CC naked bike, preferring Monsters and Thruxtons). I want to get the better one as soon as I can afford it, but I’d also rather not die.
I don’t think I could ever have just a bike, but my life won’t be complete without one.
Yes!
I do ride road bikes (Specalized Allez) in the city, and rain is nothing unless it destroys your phone…but that’s what saddle pouches are for.
Apparently my friends and I are crazy…we still corner and take descents at 30mph+ in the rain (yes, on a bicycle…I’ve had to talk my way out of speeding tickets before).
But, well, bikes just don’t hydroplane. The contact patch is so small (a couple square inches) and the tire pressures are so high (>110 PSI) that you’d have to be going impossibly fast before you hydroplane. Gravel is way scarier, and you can still deal with it if you see it. Cornering at 30mph in standing water is only scary because there might be loose gravel under the water…and it kind of just doesn’t come up in cities if you take the lane.
It’s probably not as true with motorcyles, but still…harder to hydroplane than in a car. The only real issue is how hard you have to squeeze your front brake if the rim/pads get too wet. I definitely broke a brake cable on a group ride in pouring rain one day last summer…it was on of the most terrifying experiences of my life having to rely on the rear brake.
And it’s shocking how much traction you have with mountain/cyclocross tires on bad surfaces. I don’t think I’d ride on ice, but that’s because I live in Atlanta and 99% of our drivers have no idea what they’re doing on ice. I don’t drive then if I can help it, and I’ve driven on Lake Erie (in a Mercedes…it was fun except when traction control was trying to kill me).
Fuck yes.
My girlfriend and I argue about this constantly…fortunately we both like both…but cats are just better. At least, the cats I’ve known are just better than the dogs I’ve known with very few exceptions, and only overlapping, not at the extremes.
I had a guy in a corvette wave me around going down a mountain on a bicycle in Colorado once. We rode from Durango to Silverton and back. About halfway back it started to rain. That kind of sucked.
