It looks like the innofader and the X1 Infinium are going to compete for the chance to become my number one scratch fader for my ddm4000. But with this video i’m leaning towards the X1 Infinium. Check it out!
Thought I’d add my two pence as I’ve had this crossfader for about a year.
For the price (picked up mine online for around £40) it’s a must have upgrade for the standard cross fader. Optical pickup, adjustable magnetic tension and the ability to retain MIDI output, curve control and EQ cuts mean it’s pretty hard to resist IMHO. It takes 5 minutes to install and you even get a new, slimmer, taller and better quality fader cap to boot. Definitely worth investing in if your going to do some quick cuts!
I actually prefer this over my old Xone: 92. (I know I’ll probably get slated for saying that!).
Just had the lid off my DDM about 15 minutes ago adjusting a problem with the seating of my Infinium fader and can confirm the channel faders are not optical. Just normal VCA faders. The only optical fader in the DDM4000 is the crossfader, and then only if you have the Infinium fader upgrade.
Curiously, the DDM has two crossfader connector ports. One for the standard fader, and a completely separate one for the Infinium. Almost like it was planned…
This has been on my wish list for a while now. I’ve recently modded my (original) DDM4K cross-fader (credit card mod for reduced cut-in time), but when it’s knackered I’ll be getting the Infinium fader to replace it.
