Hey, ive got a Ns7 and i want to get custom vinyl for it. I can only get red or blue because most the other stuff is to light and hurts preformance. So if im stuck with red or blue vinyl, the question is… How transparent are they… I want to get some “trip mats”, like the ones Q bert has and then cut them to fit the 7 inch vinyl. If i do this will the optical illusion still work even though your seeing much less of the slip mats and is the red/blue vinyl transparent enough that you can clearly see the trip mats. Simple - not at all. I haven’t heard of transparents faux records for the NS7, but they are definitely possible. You can cut a any record down to size if you want (but sand the sides down) and it will work if you drill the holes for the spindle/whateveryouwannacallit in the correct location.
If you want that effect, I’d try to find a label to put over the vinyl label of the NS7 (e.g., 12inchskins) . You’ll have to cut it down to fit, but its not that hard if you are patient and careful.
I dont need to do any cutting or sanding down of the vinyl because numark already makes custom vinyl that is 7 inch. What im asking is how see through is that vinyl?
