Paulcook’s Setup

Started DJing early 2010, got myself traktor, didnt do my research and just bought TSP, quickly got bored of using a mouse so bought a faderfox DX2

Got a bit more into production and bought a maschine as well

Got an APC40 from ebay cheap as anything, hated it:

Landed my first gig just before i went to work away from home, played on a DJM600 and felt so uncomfy about it, plus all the flashing lights for FX etc, the behringer was starting to die out so since i was making good money working away, i bought myself one.

Also landed myself a b2b spot in a bar where the guy used an x1, fell in love with it instantly, sold the DX2 and bought an x1.

Late 2010: got myself some CDJs to use with my audio 8, also moved my setup to the converted garage

Got the bar gig to myself, started making some real money, bought another x1 and some pio HDJ500’s

Ended up getting a big contract abroad for work so i was away from my setup for 6 months making amazing money, came back sold the APC40 and Audio 8, bought a DJM900 and 2 CDJ2000’s also walked straight into a club residency, took my DJM600 to the gigs because they had some ancient behringer mixer.

Got interested in serato, bought an SL2, also hooked everything up for a photo

Lost my job, and needed a new car, also turned 21 so insurance was cheap as hell so sold everything apart from the DJM600 and SL2 because the club i resided at were CDJs/Serato only and bought a golf GTi (mmmmmm)

Got another club residency whilst looking for a full time job, landed myself some cheap as hell Tech 1210’s with ortofon scratch needles

Got myself a full time job, saved a bit and purchased an S4 and KRK Rokits (not pictured as they’re in awkward areas, no stands for them as of yet)

So my setup now consists of an S4, Rane SL2, 2x Tech 1210mk2, DJM600, HDJ500’s and 2 sets of ortofon concordes

Currently saving for a new pair of headphones as the HDJ’s are on the way out, then a scratch mixer for the Techs, Either a pioneer T1 or Rane 61, then a desk for it all to sit on.

Also starting a record collection, its too much effort these days to unpack my gig bag, set up ssl for a few hours, then have to repack everything away, so starting a vinyl collection,
This is it as of this monday morning (lol)

These arrived monday night,

one of them is known to collectors as a ‘freak’ (notice the blue marbling on a clear record)

Awesome story man. You had some crazy nice gear man!

Treat the headband with care, dont crush them into a bag, the headband isnt very strong,
other than that they’re great headphones, think ill just keep them for home use and get a paid of senny’s or TMA-1’s for playing out

the 1 arm jesus pose is my favourite :wink: aye its a great venue like, lost my residency there last month though, the place got bought over and they took on all new staff

One of the best purchases ive ever made, 20 quid from a mate who had them lying about his room. Sound great, the only problem is the amp is RCA in only :disappointed:

These came this morning, got a nice bid for £50, most of them house and trance, found some hip-hop and dnb in there too..

Not mine, but still gear porn, and they’re my mates (whos not on here) im seriously green with envy :disappointed:
P.s Broke my second pair of HDJ500’s this year, seriously weak headband, new addidas HD25’s in the post, £40 knocked off them cos the box was bashed.
