Quick DDM4000 question

@zac
the sampling isn’t THAT awful. You can even do two samples. It’s just that after years of quantized effects in traktor it feels shitty to me having to tweak the tempo and pitchbending the sampler to stay in sync with the other tracks :slight_smile:

It does have some things going for it though.
The bpm counters have the good taste of showing you one decimal place which you won’t see on a djm. It lets you adjust the tempo with a knob and pitch bend with two button, which I don’t think the djm’s sampler effect will let you do. This is good for keeping things in time. Too bad the detection is a bit wobbly and off a few decimal places - play it a looped beat at 125 and it’ll show something else than 125, with fluctuations.
IIRC the djm allows you to change sample length while it’s playing back, which is not possible on the ddm - you set it before sampling.

@Milk3y:
All I’d do at this point would be upgrading to an ecler nuo 4 or an a&h xone 42 mixer for better sound quality. Not to any of the DJM. Every now and then I like to plug in my midi cable to the ddm and use a few of the buttons but I wouldn’t miss it.

Ok fair enough. Any thoughts on the ddm vs a djm 400? A lot less functionality on the djm but I’m considering just switching to pioneer for convenience of its popularity.

Imagine a company that more or less monopolises an entire sector of dj hardware, you could charge just about anything you want!

Thanks :slight_smile: i think ive decided on either a xone 42 and 2 kontrol x1’s or 2 xone 1d’s :stuck_out_tongue: still deciding
