recommend me some…

.. funky/jazzy house, techfunk or whatever this genre is called..

i’m looking for music like ean put in his latest mix.

something like this

what’s the name of this type of house?! what are good producers?

thanks

do you mean tech house? deep house?

i wouldn’t consider it as tech house.. cause it’s funkier and jazzier, some sax, trumpet or whatever and a nice housebeat.. if it’s tech house, what are common artists doing this style of techhouse?!

check out laurent garnier

anything that has dj dan’s name on it imo

I think this is way too awesome

Marvelous Mixin Miguel

This is an old cut from the 90’s. The one weltraumpapst posted above was remade or remixed. It was labeled as House / deep house music in the 90’s.

Believe or not most of the cut people you hear today are remade from the 80’s and 90’s
NightCrawlers, Robin S, Lil-Louis, Inaya Day, etc…

Check out TraxSource. They carry a lot of house music that’s made in America. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with the other countrys form of house music. But if you go to a real house / deep house night club in America; they’re pump some of the best house and deep house music you’ll never find in other countries. (This is just my opinion - dont write me hate mail) I love music from over seas but somethings are still made better in American. To me deep house is one of those things.

Check out your local record store. There’s still people who only publish there tracks on vinyl. It one sure way the producer could make some $ before in lands on the internet as a free download.

Check out these dj’s on Youtube. They play old school house & deep house. Andre Hatchett, Frankie Knuckles, Pharris Thomas, Chicago Music Production

Hopes this helps.

duck sauce-you’re nasty
duck sauce-anyways

its a-trak and armand van helden making funky disco house. not releasing till the end of oct

hey

yeah have a look at the Defected label (where that above track comes from hence the big D logo visuals in the video), its a great place to start if your looking for anything around this area of house. They do plenty of stuff covering a fairly wide range of house: funky, disco-y, vocal-y, jazzy, latin, soul/motown etc etc. Can see the label direct and also have a look at Strictly Rhythm, an imprint label of Defected which also has some good tunes.

k

House is house, regardless of sub genre. you either like the sound of a track or you don’t

anywhoo..
The best thing i can think of is find that track on an mp3 site (is that grammar with ‘an’ instead of ‘a’ correct? meh…), then look at recommendations based on what other people bought. What i do if i’m after stuff with a similar sound

one of my favorite sounds/subgenres, i usually just call it funky house cause it sounds most descriptive.

kamei - hot

le principle - ever since
figure & sleepy t - its only love

le babar - mon amour

I like Parov Stelar and got lot of my non electronic music friends to like it.

Alex Kenji uses some jazzy elements on some of his tracks too.

EDIT: Oh, and pretty much everything with Funkagenda on it.

thanks a lot guys for all this input..

i did a mix with some jazzy tunes here: DJ TechTools Forums
