S4 with DJTT Knobs and Faders

S4 with DJTT Knobs and Faders

The VCI knob pack arrived today. The faders needed a little help fitting, but weren’t too much trouble.

I put them where I did to go with a 12inch skin i’m going to put on.

Just out of curiousity, how much was “not too much trouble” on the faders? as well as the whole process, Im down for some sick green onces as well, just afraid i’ll break the thing as I’ve never done it.

To get the knobs off I had to use a small flat screw driver with a post card underneath (to keep from scratching the S4) to gently lift the knob. Not hard at all.
To make the faders fit I heated a small flat screw driver that was the same size as the fader’s metal tang, and pushed it into the new knob to make it fit better. This worked perfectly on the line faders, but the cross fader must have a longer metal piece, because it wouldn’t sit quite as far down as the others.

Looks very nice!

I was thinking about doing the same, but I really like the nice rubbery feel of the S4 knobs.

Glad you posted this, S4 comes tomorrow and I’ve got a pack of knobs here waiting for it.
I’m going to mark my gains and filters so I can see them easier.

Did you have to switch the inserts for anything?

Nicely done, personally though i’d definitely stick with my stock S4 stuff, it looks perfect the way it is!

With the knobs, I find the slightly larger size easier to grab.

The main reason for these and the skin in the future, is visibility/contrast. All the black on black makes it hard for my old eyes to find things quickly.:open_mouth:

The gain knobs are different, I think you could drill the knob deeper to have them fit. But the way they are now, the knob doesn’t go all the way down, it sits too high up.

They fit perfectly on the filters, eq’s, and Fx knobs.

Most of the knobs’ inserts were in correctly, only had to switch 3 over.

Thank you, and I can never leave stuff alone, lol. I like to customize

Did you have any of the black lines fall off the knobs? It happened to two of mine when I had to put them on. :disappointed: Do they snap on or do I have to glue them back on?

Mine all stayed on. I don’t know how they are attached though, sorry.

Craaaaaap! Break one and fix it. Then get back to me.

It looks like they just slide in the groove, but I would put a little glue on it if it came out easily.

That is so freaking cool vangogo! I’m gonna get me some of them knobs!
Did you get the skin on yet?

No skin yet. I’m waiting for the guy to respond. I think he was stacked up on business after NAMM. I called after a week and he said he would get to my email in order received. Still waiting. Will post pic after it comes in.

i tried this, but there’s a small space left between the green knobs and S4’s surface. they are really loose too, so i removed them immediately. cant dj with loose knobs..

Knobs fit fine on mine. Not loose at all. They are not as tight as the origionals though, but not coming off easy either. As stated in first post, I had to help the faders fit.

Hey Van, I’m also looking at replacing some of the knobs & faders on my S4. I tried a knob from my pioneer djm 800 - they fit like a dream, BUT, they 'point the wrong way - i.e when the S4 knob is at 12 o clock position the knobs white line actually shows it at 9 o clock.

This lead me to think, will this be the same with all other knobs do you think?

The knobs from DJTT have a removable insert that can be turned around to accommodate for that situation.

Ah ok, very clever. I wonder if the knobs from ‘dj’sface.com’ have the same ability? Last thing i want is to buy some only to find they don’t line up correctly.
I think Yul said he got the Xone knobs and sliders from there, how were they Yul? Did they line up correctly?
