So I want to start producing House music… on a budget

Hey everyone. I’ve been a DJ for about a year now, and I love everything about dance music, specifically house music. Now I really want to start producing it though. I want to actually take my music career somewhere, and I figure making my own music early on would help. I already have a mac computer with logic pro on it, and a korg nano-key. Thats about it though. I was able to come up with about 1200 bucks recently though, and I want to buy some stuff to start seriously producing with. I also would love some recommendations on how to learn the ropes of production on the internet. Youtube search has been somewhat useless, but if anyone has specific links for beginner production videos for Logic, that would also be greatly appreciated.

Anyway- I would love any insight or advice anyone could give me on getting into the production world. Thanks in advance guys-

EDIT: If this could be moved to Music Production, I would appreciate it. My bad, saw Mixes and Production and figured that’s what I wanted, but then went back and saw the correct forum.

You already have a computer and a midi keyboard, next I would recommend getting an audio interface and and some proper monitors and that’s all you would honestly need to get started.

As far as learning the ropes, best thing to do is to just get in there and start doing it. And if you come across any problems/issues or you want to do something but can’t figure out the technique I would then go and join a message board aimed towards producing electronic music. I find the Ableton boards to be very useful my self with a lot of experienced members on there.
