I’m looking for a Traktor Controller which can control two decks and has at least 3-4 cue points available without out shift modifiers and can be used with an external club mixer but at the same time has to be portable enough to fit into a backpack. Any suggestions?
MIDI Fighter Classic. There are a variety of mappings that can do what you’re looking for. Check the MIDI Fighter forum. There’s a sticky thread with a lot of the mappings. I have a modified version of the Instant Gratification mapping that does exactly what you’re looking for.
Its my only controller, and I mix 2 decks using 2 channels on a standard mixer, I modified the mapping a bit to get a few hot cues on the “top” layer, covering over some of the controls I just flat don’t use, I find it extremely economical, and a very comfortable workflow.
honestly, the x1 is going to offer far more controls for the price. mf pros are sweet, but they are really specialized for controllerism routine techniques like crazy hot cuing and tons of effects
I have 1 MFC and an X1 and mix externaly, and im using the x1 less and less, even switched my workflow from using the x1 as main deck controller and midifigther for efx and sampledecks, to midifighter for decks a+B and x1 for sampledecks
the FEEL of the buttons on the MFC is eons better than the x1, and the x1 is REALY effin good
Well I was wondering…does the MF have the cue points accessible from one layer on each deck? Cuz one thing i wasn’t digging with the VCI arcade was the juggle mode cuz when I let go of the button it would go back to the start of the song. I want to be able to hit a cue point and have it play from that part onward. Is that how the Deck focus mapping works?
