Techno Recommendations

Looking for some techno such as:

Any ideas?

Google and Beatport seem like good places to start

Soma, Drumcode, CLR, Tresor and Ostgut Ton are good labels to check out for this kind of stuff.

Check out the CLR and Drumcode podcasts every week, as well as Dave Clarkes White Noise podcasts as well. All well produced and good tracklistings to support.

Failing that just wade through the techno pages on Beatport. Most of the techno crowd do exclusive releases for them and have releases on there anyway.

Cheers, familiar with tresor, soma and love Ostgut ton! will check the others now!

Shameless blog plug!

Take it from there

If you like it dark and twisted check out DJTT member Lance Blaise. I couldn’t live without my CLR podcast and I’m about to subscribe to Drumcode now.

Cheers Guys some familiar artists there, found some new ones aswell - Fantastic! I am seriously loving the Cosmin TRG tune in the OP!!! HUGE!!!

Norman Nodge actually played at my Local Town, Wrexham, North Wales - I was buzzing thought how did they pull that off??? Went along and was surprised to see him using records! No DVS either! My mate was so off his face he kept on knocking into his desk making the record skip! Anyway, Id had a Mix Tape of his think it was the MNML G one with Shed and Martyn on the playlist so was really excited, but tbh he wasnt that good! Gutted!

Ah that sounds awesome! I saw Norman Nodge play after Dave Clarke in Berghain. All I can say is wooooooooooooow.

Tracks by James Ruskin & Mark Broom

First off, that track is Tech House. You could take a look on Beatport for that…

I can see how someone would say that. I would still label it as techno in my collection though.

I’m really liking stuff from Phunk Investigation.

Na, defo Techno

And stuff by Brian Sanhaji:

The Vly and The Adonis are right on the money, their references will get you some good stuff to start with. Do subscribe to the CLR podcast - the tracklists are often in there and you can start looking for more with that.

You could also probably take a look at Droid Behaviour (label) and their D-Node podcast. Audio Injection and Raiz are from this crew.
AI’s work as “Truncate” is seriously good raw techno, unfortunately the best is of course not released…
And I’ll chime in once more for Fachwerk/Mike Dehnert, my techno revelation of 2010 - (most represented artist in my collection now with Jeff Mills, in only a few months  )
See also the Deeply Rooted House label, despite the name it has some serious techno on it at times, i.e. Dehnert (again), Klock, Marcelus. If you can get your hand on some sets by label boss DJ Deep, give it a shot, you may extract some gems from his tracklists.
Hotflush is usually a dubstep label but recent releases have been (good) techno by Joy O, Sigha and the like. Check these out.

@BFLY, yeah, most (if not all) of the Ostgut artists are rocking pure vinyl/cds. Even Shed when he’s just spinning and not doing his live set

@all, yup, “izolat” is pretty much peak time techno. It’s the peak in Marcel Fengler’s CLR podcast from a few months back (he’s on Ostgut btw, check him out if he hasn’t been listed already - although he doesn’t do much production you’ll still benefit from his tracklists)

Are you trying to say that Izolat is NOT Techno? That has to be one of the most absurd things I ever heard all year.

And on that note, do people even make an effort to try and search for music anymore? Most of those labels are really popular relatively speaking. A little effort would have shown that.

Whatever happened to people finding their own path music wise and developing it organically?

Please dont start with this, if you dont want to give any recommendations, helpful sites, then dont. I cant be arsed with the thread going down this route.
