There are so many ways to go about this list. It could be based on top 10 most influential, top 10 most technical, top 10 innovators, top 10 programmers and so on. This is just too broad a subject to cover.
and I think all of those would still have Craze & Qbert at the top of the list.
Unfortunately I think this is one of those most popular races, sort of like president of the student body.

the best way to go about it would be picking the top dj of his own breed… too many genres and different types of djs, it’s stupid that they only picked a handful of guys that play 4/4 genres (with the exception of Andy C)…
you know when i was getting into the edm thing over 10 years ago me and my boys thought mixmag was “the source”… i don’t know if it’s changed or if we were just too newbish to notice what a piece of trash it is.

I don’t know if they would fit in all of those. Their technical skills are not in question, and their influence can not be denied.
But I don’t know if I would label them as innovators or top notch programmers.
The problem is there is so many good djs out there world famous probs over 1000. Looking at other ppl top ten lists and ideas im like should I of put him in. My list would change day to day depending wat mood im in. Probs allways have craze at the top he can do everything program a night mix scratch produce he can do it all with his hands behind his back or one under his leg
that may be half true, but they are also home to some of (imo) the world’s best damn djs who are probably more popular for their djing than they are for their production… you’ve got guys like kid koala, dj food & dk, mr.scruff, coldcut and kentaro who are all fairly proficient turntablists but also have insanely eclectic taste in music which makes for really special entertaining and educating mixes.

Seriously, all the people in my list are worthy of a lot more interest in my world than any of those guys in the Mixmag list.
I mean ok, someone said its British. Dunno what relevance that has as the Top 10 wasnt so British and the DJs arent even that popular in the UK
Mixmag panders to the industry and more specifically the DJs that work Ibiza clubs like whores.
Mags like these dont serve the music buying public or the clubbers of the world. They serve the back slapping name dropping coked up E munchers that play or go to Ibiza and shite clubs in UK like Ministry.
I mean just how relevant is Tiesto in anyones world outside of the layer of human piss that is the white shirt wearing idiots that worship him.
Some of the guys on that list are probably actually dead and their managers use life size dolls just so they can keep the revenue coming in.

Some are… Tony De Vit R.I.P. not that some people on here would “get” at this point in time but I am glad he made it onto the list if you’ve ever been to one of his sets. DAMN!
Mixmag is however aimed at a dance scene market, rarely was hip hop and scratching mentioned in it (at least when I was buying it 10 years ago) so no surprises no jocks made it to the list.
I don’t BTW Necessarily mean UK DJ’s but the jocks who regularly played the shores and super-clubs would be the ones making it in as top 10.
Tiesto though! Seriously, something is WAY screwed with the world in getting a place anywhere near this but who really cares, its an opinionated list much like the MTV music awards. How accurate are they again ?
