Traktor

Traktor

Hi Folks,

Couple of things really;

I have a stardard MacBook entry level which I bought about 3/4 years ago and that used to be my sole means of DJing with Traktor Scratch Pro, with Audio Interface 8, and I never had any problems.

I recently got a new mac book pro 13" and installed Traktor Scratch Pro and everything seemed fine, but on a number of occasions the software just closed automatically whilst I was working which did screw things up a bit.

I’m not very technical when it comes to how things work because I;m the kind of person that just likes to use it when it does work, so I thought, was it because my version of Traktor was outdated (number 1) and that the Mac was the latest operating system, so would I need to get Traktor Scratch Pro 2 (which wouldn’t be a problem if I knew it would deff work), and if I got 2 would it work with Audio Interface 8.

Has anyone experienced this problem before?

Thanks
Jack

What were you doing when it just shut down? Can you recreate the crash? I have to be honest, that’s never happened to me on my MBP.

It happens when I’m loading tracks, it just decides, don’t like this, crash.
I can recreate it now, thats without even having the audio interface in so I know its a software fault, and it doesn’t happen with the same track either.

I reckon you might be looking at a full reinstall, can anyone else recommend this?

What precise version of Traktor are you using?

Maybe look in your collection for tracks that have strange Chinese or Russian characters in them. Sometimes those will cause havoc in Traktor.

i had something similar quite a while ago with a track i got from soundcloud, it would re-analyse it every time i started traktor and take forever, then just freeze and die. found the file, deleted it and all was well
