Twister centre detent and resolution settings not sticking
Greetings,
Just unboxed my twister and am setting up mappings for it. When I set an encoder to have a centre detent, if I click on a different encoder or send the data to the twister, the checkbox unchecks itself. This also happens if I change from high resolution to high response, yet other settings such as midi channel and colour do what they are supposed to.
This is with the latest firmware, and with MF utility 2.62 running on Mac.
Is this a known issue or is there something i’m doing wrong?
Same thing is happening to me. Using latest firmware and utility 2.62. Can’t get the changes I make to the detent or the knob resolution to stick. It lets me change them but once I send my changes to the twister it unchecks itself and knob resolution switches back again. So frustrating, Please help djtt.
I reverted to MF Utility 2.61 and I don’t want to update to v 2.62 until they have this detent and resolution bug fixed. Does anyone know if this issue has been resolved yet?
I am unable to change an encoder so “Has Detent” sticks. (Also can’t un-check existing encoders using that setting). Short 1m video showing the issue:
If I reset to factory settings I still can’t make that change. Importing my old settings works, though.
OS X 10.9.4, Midifighter Utility 2.62, Twister firmware June 26 2014. Let me know what other info I can provide! I’m not sure what the previous firmware was, but probably whatever shipped (I was a preorder).
ok, nice that they are working on an update/fix.
However, a small message (and temporary solution) to inform their customer on this issue would be the least, don’t you think so?
SAME ISSUE… but how do i find and roll back to previous Firmware
i had the same issue straight out of the box…
my only question is where exactly is the old/new firmware file located??? this would be handy to backup old firmwares before updating…
better yet the Midi Fighter Utility should just have an option for all previous firmwares or at least the last few in a drop down box within the dedicated window..
oh and it would be nice to be able to “check for updates” for the MIDI UTILITY from WITHIN the app itself… this will save a lot of time…
I noticed on this forum that several people are having trouble with the MF Twister, the Mf utility, firmware, remote scripts etc., posting their frustrations on the forum (often my messages are not posted by the moderators - hope this message will be !!) and rarely getting ANY feedback.
It’s time Ean and his crews stops getting fancy haircuts and making fancy video’s, steps up to provide support to ALL the people who are having a hard time with the Twister.
So I found that if you constantly change the settings for the affected knob (after a factory reset) I was able to get all the knobs the way I wanted them. I noticed that it doesn’t seem to be just one knob but it will vary almost like something during the compiling process in the MF Utility causes the firmware to receive bad information or something. Basically if you switch the knob enough times between a factory reset, (Using the “Multiple” option)center detent, (Using the “Multiple” option again)and no center detent you will stumble across and interesting pattern that will eventually get everything set right. But It’s a pain the ass and it unfortunately isn’t an exact science. But I can report that I was able to get 4 normal super knobs and 12 center detent knobs all on one page.
