What do you think rules in controllerism??
We all know that technics rules in turntables and pioneer in cdjs but who do you think rules in controllers!?! IMO its vestax!!! they were the first to make a controller and changed the whole game and they continue to strive in making pro controllers and bedroom dj controllers. they stay true to their motto of “for the people.”
although NI is the shit when it comes to high end controllers like S4/S2 but personally imho for layman & hobbyist alike would started on some Numark controllers.
why no Akai in the list?

Agree. Maschine & X1 alone make for too convincing an argument imo. Throw the s4/s2 in there and its a tough one to beat.
How can you possibly leave DJTT and the Midi Fighter out of this list?
Faderfox is missing too, specially after putting pioneer on the list

No Novation in that list either. Dicers are blurring the line between controllerim and turntablism. Absolute awesomeness - I love my Dicers.
NI for sure. Like said above, the X1, S4/S2, Machine, and they already got my mouth watering over the F1. And like Luconia said, Numark is up there when it comes to good beginner-advanced controllers.

Touch OSC and Lemur are worth mentioning as well, seing an iPad in a booth running any of these ain’t an odd sighting any longer.

Numark can’t argue build quality even on their budget shit. I purchased an total control in 2008 still works great. Mind you faders are getting worn but buttons encoders and rotarys are all on par. Alot of abuse has been given to it. Mind you it was $200+ when I bought it. Just recently switched to an ns6 but keep total control hooked up along with my x1 to one of my setups

Sorry but i dont see the point in this list.
This list is basically a list of who has bought what. No-ones gonna vote for Numark if they have bought an S4 and vice versa.
+1 Faderfox DX2 was my first controller and is an amazing little box and without a shadow of a doubt the BEST built controller i have ever owned (and ive owned a lot). It beats anything in production today for its build quality.
btw-if anyone wants to buy my Faderfox im selling it. I dont want to but i need some new guitar gear and im having to sell some unused kit to fund the guitar stuff
Although I voted NI because it’s leading right now, I should’ve also voted novation, they deserves big credit because Moldover’s modded keyboard video. Also, akai should be on the list because the APC’s and MPD’s.
i voted for all of them because i can.
NI has the lead in technology and “wow” factor.
Vestax is doing the Vestax thing…providing more than you pay for in terms of quality.
Behringer’s latest gear makes the entry level play…“good enough” gear to get started and open the playground to the masses.
It will be interesting to come back and revisit this topic in 10 years.
NI - Overpriced
