An Audio 4 or 10, run cdj’s into the ins on the sound card, then run the outs of it into the mixer channels… Then you’d need to run a usb into the soundcard from your computer in order for your software to recognize the music and to push it though your mixer.
When it comes to the monitors at this point, just plug them into your mixer and they’ll work normally.
ahh thanks, but I should have been more clear - I’m selling the CDJs and just having my DJM 400, Traktor X1 and Laptop (and soundcard) - still need an Audio 4? and if I was to get an audio 4, would that allow for two X1s into a 4 channel mixer?
my aim is to upgrade further to four decks using two X1s and a 4 channel external mixer - I feel slightly inhibited by the cdj 350s - if they were CDJ 900s or above I would be much happier, but I don’t have that kind of money - I don’t like that the 350s displays are so small, I would like to incorporate a laptop even if purely for browsing my library, not to mention quantized looping which I CAN’T WAIT to use (being a house/techno dj I need longer transitions!).
Having said the above, I’m now posing the question of what I would need to simply incorporate Traktor into my DJM 400 aand CDJ 350 setup - would I be able to use quantized loops if I were to connect a laptop?
Yes, you can connect your 350s to Traktor and use them as MIDI controllers as well as your sound card. No other purchases necessary but you might want to add an X1 for more control.
