wobbly crossfader

wobbly crossfader

Any solutions? The rubber top has become loose off my crossfader. The metal is still attached and the fader works fine but obviously it is much less useful without the head, is there any way of re attaching it or where i could get a new part for my numark stealth control?

Thanks

hmm..epoxy glue?

i didnt fancy spilling glue in the inside of my controller! I may have to resort to that though!

a little bit of plumbers putty should do the trick…I mean a neddle tip worth

When faders get loose it’s usually due to micro fractures in the plastics. (Remember, rubber and plastic break down in certain environments) The only perminant solution is a new fader cap.

Favorite temp solutions include.

Teflon Tape
Plumbers Putty

any ideas on where i could get a new cap?

Thanks for the responses guys :stuck_out_tongue:

i have had a few faders do this to me due to excessive use. To fix this problem i usually just lay a small piece of paper over top of the metal post of the fader u are fixing and then just press the fader cap on to the post (being careful not to bend the post or damage it from too much pressure.) it’s a temperary fix but I have done this many times and it usually lasts awhile. i have actually had some last for years like this. with this method you can still remove the fader cap in the future if need be! perhaps if you need to open up your controller, or whatever.

Ive tried that technique mate, couldn’t get it to work.

At the mo i have some formy stuff from my pillow stuffed up there but it isn’t exactly cool having a hairy fader!
