Sorry man it’s been a long day, not around my computer at the mo so was confusing direct thru with live input in my head. I’ll definitely be giving it a whirl tomorrow. Cheers.
well all my library is in lossless .aiff except for a small amount that i couldn’t get in lossless.
However i can confirm that there is no difference in volume between switching from vinyl to digital lossless audio.
maybe it is that you are noticing the difference between a mp3 and lossless audio. neither should sound louder though. mp3’s should just sound more harsh than vinyl. i have Traktor scratch 6.0 btw
That’s what I figured…thanks for clarifying that for me, Spadenation!!
It has nothing to do with mp3. The thing is the digital files are louder, not quieter, as compared to vinyl processed through the live input. Nobody else is having this issue? I must be doing something wrong…
Are you from the future?
I think your spot on actually. Mine plays through much quieter than most of my other files. I will be cranking the gain(s) when I sample to get a nice full signal and waveform.
Oh, so it’s as I feared then…damn, I need to get on someone’s Traktor setup and test this for myself.
For me, playing vinyl direct thru with an external mixer and an audio10 is around 2db quieter than with timecode. Live input is much quieter. You can map a button to switch between a track deck, a remix deck, or a live input, but not direct through. You know, the important one. Direct through is hardware based and therefore only switchable with a mouse.
I use FX both pre and post fader depending on the effect. Not sure about how all this compares with the Z2 though, but thats how it works with an external interface.
haha ya man! 2021 actually. that was a typo though. was supposed to say 2.6.0
Can you tell us if flexible beatgrids have finally been implemented in Traktor 6.0 or will we have to wait for Traktor 7? ![]()
ya they sure did. shortly after you became a traktor developer in 2018
This is already a known issue if using thru on the audio 6/10. NI really dropped the ball here http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=139157
It’s not a “known issue”… it’s just how it works.
Or how it doesn’t really work at all.
What I dislike most is the noticeable drop in volume when using the fx send/return. The main db meter levels on my 707 drop a full 3db when I press the fx send button. Kind of makes me not want to use it.
