all so i have set a password and login
but for some reason when booted it just boots in to the desktop and dont ask for a password do i need to change something?
you can also make the menu bar like windows auto-hide but it takes a bit of hacking and its process specific. I use it for Finder to have an ultra clear desktop with naked people in it.
im pretty sure on a mac for right click, you just click with two fingers on the trackpad instead of one… thats how i have mine set anyway. As for getting rid of stuff from the taskbar, just drag it off the taskbar…
all so i have all my music on an external and i want to transfer it over if i plug in the hdd its not gonna wipe is it? can i just swap the files over?

[/quote]Assuming, if you have a Mac, it is able to recognize the file-system; then yes.
There is no potential of danger when it comes to plugging in a USB device unless the host computer has a virus.
If the computer is unable to recognize the drive you simply install MacFUSE and install the MacFUSE extension which correlates to the file-system used on the external HDD. Currently there is no write support for EXT2/3. Well there is, but it’s buggy as shit and prone to failure. Stick to plain FAT32. It is the only universally accepted file system at the moment.
