15"inchs of pure pleasue

i am of course talking about my macbook pro
3 weeks late due to the great british weather
but my god what a machine
my gf is gonna be lonely tonight

what is the “right click” on mac?

all so how do i clear some of the shite of the bottoms task bar or whatever its called
thanks

You have to enable right click in preferences or hold control and left click will get the same result.

Click, hold, drag it off and watch it poof away. It’s just a shortcut so the program will stay in Applications.

The little face on the bottom left is the finder, don’t delete it. use it and learn to love it.

ahh thanks very much

all so i have set a password and login
but for some reason when booted it just boots in to the desktop and dont ask for a password do i need to change something?

Go to preferences, click security and make the appropriate changes.

I remember this all too well from when i moved to a Mac, give it a week and you will be 10x more productive than you were on a Windows machine.

Oh and, how good do you find the keyboards on Macs? I can barely stand to type on any other machine now.

you can also make the menu bar like windows auto-hide but it takes a bit of hacking and its process specific. I use it for Finder to have an ultra clear desktop with naked people in it.

over the summer and breaks (like this winter break), I work.

We havs PCs at work and after usign my mac all those months during the school year its weird to use a PC, mainly the keyboard.

Nothing happens when I click alt+r. At first i was like “WHY ISNT THIS REFRESHING???”

then i realised it was a pc

Bought an aluminum keyboard to use with my work pc…

I didn’t like Finder at first, then I learned some keyboard shortcuts and love it

one of the things that took me about 15 mins to figure out was how to eject a disc haha…

I don’t use a GUI

im pretty sure on a mac for right click, you just click with two fingers on the trackpad instead of one… thats how i have mine set anyway. As for getting rid of stuff from the taskbar, just drag it off the taskbar…

i have mine set to bottome right hand corner as normal..

o rly? how did you post this?

[/quote]Assuming, if you have a Mac, it is able to recognize the file-system; then yes.

There is no potential of danger when it comes to plugging in a USB device unless the host computer has a virus.

If the computer is unable to recognize the drive you simply install MacFUSE and install the MacFUSE extension which correlates to the file-system used on the external HDD. Currently there is no write support for EXT2/3. Well there is, but it’s buggy as shit and prone to failure. Stick to plain FAT32. It is the only universally accepted file system at the moment.
