Browse mode on X1

hi,

I’m trying to map my Kontrol X1 so that when i browse through tracks, it automatically enters into browse mode. when i load a track it comes back to normal view. for that i add Layout-> Only Browser toggle → assign Norm.Left Browse to this (hold, button). and i add the second assignment only with Norm.Right Browse.

even so, the problem is that when i turn the knob right it enters browse mode, but when i turn it left it enters normal mode, but i want it to stay in browse no matter how i turn it, and only exit when i load a track.

what am i doing wrong?

p.s. if anyone can list by step actions to be done to achieve this, i would be very grateful!

Map to encoder: Add in browser on / Controller type-button / Interaction mode-direct / Value-1
Map to load buttons: Add in browser on / Controller type-button / Interaction mode-direct / Value-0

in browser i see: list, tree, favourites. where do i find browser on?

You can find it under “Layer” tab.

i guess we’re using different versions of traktor.

in mine i have Layout → Only Browser toggle. when press learn and then turn the browse knob, in controller type it shows only button, no encoder available…

It is same command actually, shouldn’t be any problems.

That’s fine, command need to be displayed as button it’s just encoder you are controlling it with.

p.s. i’m using 2.0.1

if i upgrade to 2.5 will it save the track collection along with settings and playlists and import dates?

Yep. When you upgrade traktor and start it for first time massege will pop up asking if you want to copy settings and collections from previous version.

When you do that make sure all of the tracks you have beat gridded are BPM locked. There’s a chance the grids might get messed up when it analyzes them.
