Well I was thinking to myself when I can start getting DJ gear again I started thinking “Is the APC40 REEEEEAAALLLLYYYY worth the extra $100-150?” No not really because you’re paying alot for the encoders and what not…(Then again the encoders are smooth when I got to feel one in GC) So Had a thought
APC20 (Deck controls)
BCR2000 for effect/EQ/WHO KNOWS WHAT XD
A2DJ for… do I even have to say
What else should I do? I have untill october to buy junk
$300 month Starting in June.
Dont worry even with alot of stuff to learn how to use I also practice my mixing while mapping stuff out so that I know what does what =p
Personally I started with an apc40 in traktor and loved it. The mapping might be a little hard to get used to but you’ll get the hang of it pretty quick.
Ive got an apc40 + flightcase + footpedal if your interested
After playing with the two setups, i really preffer the traditional DVS setup but if its something your looking into, i know a lot of people that preffer it
Shipping would probably murder me
Only interested in the controller really. but still the overseas shipping to Arizona =.=
I ordered a Japanese pen one time for $20 ended up being $40 because of the shipping
Dude Midi Controllers by their very nature are customizable so that means they are all near enough the same…you should be thinking “What do i need to do?” and then looking for a controller, make yourself apply to the controller not the other way around
get a bunch of korg nanoseries2 (the new and improved ones) and map em yourself to traktor
the nanokontrol2 gives you 8 faders, 8 pots, 24 buttons, ready to map
the nanoPad2 gives you an xy pad and 16 PADS (more pads than the old one) - you can make a cheap midifighter clone with this
nanoKey2 is still as crappy as the old one so dont bother
What about a VCI100? What about buying from Ebay or the buy/sell forum? I have never bought any DJ equipment new since there are loads of folk who try to dj and leave it couple months laterto later sell everything very cheaply.
VCI100 looks like garbage to me and always will since for it to do what I need to do would take some amazingly super human speed for controlling 4 decks at once. besides im starting to not like the jogwheels on controllers in general because they seem useless (and for those who say for scrolling through tracks… learn your tracks please)
Sounds like someone wants to hide behind pretty gear just because it’s pretty. It’s not what gear you have but what you do with it. I’m sure there are people that would do circles around you and me on the VCI. But whatever. obviously 6 posts a day doesn’t mean you read and learn what people say.
The Launchpad is another option. When combined with Katapult you can make some awesome mappings for Traktor using faders and the whatnot. And it goes for around $130 on B&H. Hell, combine that with a knob controller or a standard mixer you can have some awesome power.
And if you’re willing to remap a bit in Katapult (which is a LOT easier than Bomes) you can get some amazing FX parameters set up. Also, the VCI-100 CAN be made into a good 4 deck controller, it’s just a royal pain in the ass to map. But that’s more Traktor’s fault.
Hmmm the VCI100 is a nice piece of kit actually. There are loads of folk who use it with amazing results. Maybe what you need is better skills? And about jogwheels well, I kinda with you on this one since I dont use that much the S4 jogwheels and would trade them for more sample and cue banks in a heartbeat.
