Crane Stand® : Sub-Tray Hack.
For anyone with a heavy Soundcard that makes the sub-tray slip down (like me), here’s an inexpensive solution to keep the tray locked in tight ($2 NZD)
About 4-6 wraps should do it.

Gaffa. Fixes everthing. Nuff said.
Electrical tape, it looks like.
THANKS
, tedious problem, doesnt bug me to much anymore but im always worried it would slip around and cause sound card to fall at a gig
I thought crane was the devil because they requested a removal of the guys how-to thread on how to make your own stand…
Nice one!
I’ll give that a shot since the sub try keeps on sliding down.
I only use my sub try to hold my audio 10 when it’s set up in my house,
when I’m playing out I don’t bother using the sub try.
To be honest the audio 10 is a little bit too big for the tray,
I know it’s designed for the iPad or smaller soundcards
Its been thoroughly party tested and really does work a charm guys. Try and wrap it enough about half as thick as the rubber bits on the tray and that puppy aint going anywhere ![]()
Jester what Acer you running? (sorry im OT)
Was just about to comment on the “nice non MacBook” ![]()
@ all the Crane users ( I luckily belong to this category since this morning
) at home do you leave your laptop always on the stand or remove it ?
I leave mine sitting on the stand all the time,
I just hope that I don’t come home one day and
my laptop is lying on the floor.
But to be honest the stand seems to be rock solid so it should be fine
@ Dave the crane only gets set up for mixing so i dont leave tha lappy on it. if i did tho i would have no concerns leaving it on there.
I’ll have to get me a Crane stand when my turntables arrive… No more space on the desk. Too bad they’re not sold around here, and quite pricey to import :c
mine is supporting a pizza box with a half pizza in it right now.
have my laptop on the crane for two weeks now…hasn’t drooped, sagged or budged a mm.
