As much as I wanna hate as a new Xbox 360 owner I’m sort of excited about it .
Tiesto Lets The Cat Out Of The Bag…Activision’s DJ Hero Out Summer '09
Tiësto has gushed about his involvement in the hush-hush video game project on his newsletter. “We are proud to announce that Tiësto has teamed up with the game developer Activision and their latest project DJ Hero,” proclaimed the newsletter. Tiësto added: “I am very excited about this! I think this is a great way to introduce people into DJing. Maybe they realize it’s not as easy as they think. I am sure this brings new fans to the scene, dance music is not far from hip-hop for example. Hopefully the music I have composed appeals to all kinds of fans!”
DJ Hero is coming! No purchase here, I don’t need a video game to guide me through what some button mashing 2 year old or 16 year old professional DJ Hero thinks is a great set. But…
I would like the opinion of the community on this one. What do you think a DJ Hero game will do to the DJ market? Will we see DJ Hero Hero’s replacing real DJ’s anytime soon like some rock concerts have already seen? Read about it here
So, it’s going to happen. It’s already happened on a small scale to the arcade only market, but soon, everyone will be DJ’ing on there PS3 and Xbox. Considering that Numark is providing some tech to the development team, does it bias your view of Numark, not like I had a huge opinion of them anyway?
The year was 2003. The place, Okinawa, Japan @ the american village (near Kadena). Sega had this huge mega arcade full of the most high tech games concievable. Driving simulators, motion detecting shootem ups, a version of rock band that was full scale and way more epic. But the coolest thing there was a game with 2 turntables and a mixer. I already played DJ Hero. Im shocked its taking this long to finally have a DJing game in the states.
Then again, Im scared too. Now everyone will think they are a DJ because they can play DJ Hero on expert. I hope the controller is wireless though, hopefully I can use it to supplement my setup for cheap, dunno really.
I think that the game might lead to some pre-show acts getting axed for that DJ Hero that wins the gaming competitions, but I don’t know if it will actually affect anything other than that. I don’t think that people who play Guitar hero actually make the switch to real guitar very often, with some exceptions, and I think that after they realize that playing the guitar is a lot harder than mashing some buttons to graphics flying across a screen they would just head back to the game, similar to what I think will happen with DJ Hero.
haha - some mates of mine are the ones behind it. Saw some of the graphics last week, it looks like a pretty good laugh.
ONe of the things i love about ROck band is being able to play it with muso mates when we’re mashed. Kind of dubious on DJhero whether it’ll lose that group play mentality, but i’m sure it’ll be alright.
