DJ Promo sharing, how does it work?

Hey guys, Been a long time visitor to the site and have only recently tapped into the amazing forum hosted here…stupid i know:slight_smile::slight_smile:

I have been wondering for some time how professional Djs share music prior to its formal release date…is it as simple as record labels containing mailing lists, or do websites exists whereby new music is avaiable to certian members.

As this is my first post apologies if it is in the wrong section of the forum.

Just ask nicely . With this attitude I’ve recieved some promo’s myself. Especially the DJ’s/producers which haven’t yet made it big time want to get as much promotion of their work as possible.

thanks for the reply man,

its just that i often receive emails from labels about new releases and they often have a string of comments/endoresments from professional djs about the track, which makes me wonder if an industry standard for sharing exists.

It’s mainly just a networking thing, so get yourself out there .

cool man, thanks for your help

Also, loving your Tressor mix for Midi Fight night (soundcloud)…you ever put out a tracklisting

Never got to it really, must be because I’m lazy. Will do that somewhere later today…

for working djs, there are record and mp3 pools available.

otherwise, you’re just going to have to know people to have access to promos.

some friends i know who run their own labels also do a few “secret” digital promo distributions off twitter sometimes.
