do you stream or buy on beatport?

do you stream or buy on beatport?

just wondering, now that you can stream on beatport, does anyone actually bother buying tracks anymore?

Yes, I don’t like the idea of playing something I don’t own as you’ll be dependant on the platform you’re using, what about downtime server issues, tracks/labels being removed, etc, etc…
Putting all eggs in one basket never really did it for me.

x2

and it is not an “old way” of thinking…

Buy. Everytime.

I stream to personally listen to music; then buy a lossless digital file [along with the large quantity of vinyl I still purchase], if I intend to use that track to DJ with.

I can not imagine relying on a streaming service to DJ with. :expressionless:

Using streamed music while DJing is so far off for me I didn’t even know Beatport offers this before reading this thread… Besides that, the Beatport page itself is allready offering enough problems while listening and purchasing tracks (skripts prevent loading the pages fast or correct…), I would never ever rely on Beatport during a live gig.

Buy. I even pay extra for the WAV format.

I didn’t realise beatport offered a streaming service for dj’s yet, have you got a link?

Couldn’t imagine trusting any streaming service (or internet connection) enough to DJ on.

So I’ll take the buy option (just not from Beatport)

No.

haha best answer so far

Going to go with streaming to weed out shit tracks before buying the good ones.

since everything went digital i still find the fact i dont own any physical product after buying a track a hard enough pill to swallow…nevermind streaming

Yep, I gotta buy all of my music.
