I do not miss spending 40 minutes downloading a single radio edit MP3 over dialup while paying for a local rate call, then discovering it got recorded off Radio 1 and has their idents all over it…
It’s only happened to me once. I have to watch out for all the re releases on different labels, they’ll catch you off guard.
I’ve bought the same track twice on purpose thanks to beatport’s stupid downloader. One of the few things I don’t like about that site (the other being that it doesn’t tell you if you’ve already purchased a track when you add it to cart. What value is me logging in if you can’t even do that!?)
What I love about Traxsource is that any track you have already bought is highlighted. I like the vibe of Traxsource much more too.
Yeah…with the recent beatport announcements, I’m completely jumping ship over to traxsource. I know I’ll miss a few releases, but…meh. Plus, getting Aiff instead of Wav is worth the few cents price difference to me 'cuz it saves the steps of converting to aiff and tagging anyway.
Since I’ve moved to letting itunes manage my djing music library I’ve drastically reduced the amount of duplicates there’s a trade off but I’ve really taken a liking to it especially for playlists… I’ll listen to my library at work and if a track perks my ears I dump into a playlist for later review … No back on topic itunes library management has saved me from buying duplicates as has not just buying complete releases and spending more time dissecting a release
They send me 20% off codes every month, which is when I buy my tracks. What is great is it takes it off the total, whereas Beatport take a discount off pre vat and then add the vat, so it’s not as good value.
I have never bought two tracks twice, but I did buy two turntables once.
