From Skratchworx: NAMM 2011 - Pioneer DDJ-S1 first look video
Here’s the first official video out of Pioneer about their new controllers - in this case the ITCH based DDJ-S1. It’s much nicer to see the thing in motion and use rather than just photos. And this is also your chance to ask questions of Pioneer about these new units, as the skratchworx team will be spending a good amount of time with Pioneer and want to make sure all bases are covered.
Seeing it in use, it does seem a lot more compact than I first thought. And it’s cool to see a DJ who isn’t scratch focussed using the more creative options in ITCH.
OH SHIT! Literally spits coffee out moment. Dave Eserin said “with scope for incorporating popular plugins like Video-SL and The Bridge…” at the end of the clip. Looks like the future is bright for ITCH users.
So if you have questions, get them in now
(mods…I love you for adding the youtube to my post)
That’s okay Chilly, we still love you too! ~ Tekki
that’s a great video. the visual feedback from the platter is a slick touch. the grid editor is nice too. i don’t use Itch so i have no idea how useful that is.
Unless that’s a 10" laptop it’s quite a bit wider than the S4 I think. Doesn’t matter though as I was really just taking a dig at all the people saying the S4 was huge.
My only complaint is that I have a 17" and prob won’t fit under it. It’ll have a larger market for more traditional DJ’s, but for controllerist the S4 is an obvious choice.
