Mapping for Pioneer DDJ SB3 for Traktor - URGENT

Mapping for Pioneer DDJ SB3 for Traktor - URGENT

Hi guys, i just bought the new SB3 but seems to fresh to have the Traktor mapping available. Can anyone help me?

Hi,
From what I’ve seen on Youtube, that SB3 looks really cool in Serato! I don’t own the unit but luckily Pioneer provides a full list of midi messages for this controller so I was able to look in to this and set a couple of commands

Attached is only a test mapping. Just mixer and jog wheels for now. Decks A and B.
Please let me know how jegwheels react  for example should it be a bit slower or faster or they may be super fast… We can try another Encoder Mode if they totally suck. Currently it uses 7Fh mode and 50% on rotary sensitivity. Seems like a nice place to start testing.

Thanks a lot for the reply Stewe,
i only have the official license from traktor, and this controller only brings me the serato trial ou intro version.
I like more traktor but i prefer the pioneer controllers.

I tried your mapping, and all the mixer buttons (gain, volume, crossfader, filter, etc) worked perfectly, but the jog wheels were to much sensitive.
I tried also the mappings from the DDJ SB2, and RB and most part worked fine, except the auto loop and the play button.
We have to find the balance between all those mappings and create the new one for this
thanks again for helping

That’s awesome.

It’s great that some of existing SB2 mappings are still functional for the most part! Let me know which one in particular is the most complete one and we will simply add all those missing controls.

Also does the filter fade on the crossfader works in any of those mappings?

I don´t know for sure if the filter fade works, but i let you know as soon as i can.
I think the DDJ RB is really close to the SB3, all the pads and effects are the same.
the play and cue don´t work so well, and the auto loop button is diferrent too.
I will test again to see if we have more features missing.

PS: how did you find the midi messages for this?

Should be right here: Software Information for DDJ-SB3 - Pioneer DJ - Global

I looked up at “Support” tub of the Product Page.

I tried to do it by myself, but i don’t have to much experience on it.
With mapping from RB, the mixer buttons, joggwheels, and some pads are working fine.
Basically these are the buttons to fix:

  • Play Button for both decks
    -Cue Button for Both Decks
  • Use deck C and D (don’t know if is possible)
    -Sync Buttons
    -Auto Loop, x2 buttons
  • Audio and Headphones buttons (Cue buttons)
  • Effects

Which mapping is that? Could you please post the link to download?

DDJ RB : DJ TechTools - DDJ-RB MAP FOR TRAKTOR FIXED!!! (maax edit)

Alright. I’m looking in the mappings and it seems that both SB3 and RB use the same midi note for Play button which is B-1.
Same goes for Cue button which is C0. Which is strange they don’t work at all..

Did you ensure to set controller to Decks 1 and 2 before testing this out?

To be more precise, the deck A is working fine with play and Cue, and the deck B not.

Still doesn’t make sense.

Both decks use the same midi note message. Only difference is that for Deck it is sent on Ch.1 and for Deck B it is Ch.2

If you look in the mapping you will find that this messages are set correctly.

Really strange…
The button is not really responsive, but I will download it again the same mapping..
Can you check the other buttons?
Thanks for your help

OK so Play, Cue, Sync and Headphone Cue buttons are all assigned correctly based on the list of midi messages.

And why they do not work, I don’t know

Unless that’s due to hardware issue on those particular buttons… When you press those problematic controls/buttons, does the blue “CTRL” dot illuminate showing you that the signal has been sent from those buttons?

Yes, the hardware turns that light on when I press all those buttons.
Then I don’t know what is the problem

It’s really bad because I can’t use the controller on the club like that and nobody creates the mapping for this.

Maybe the firmware is out of date. Did you check for updates?

Hey,
Just to be sure that we are on the same page mapping wise, I made this quick TSI including only Play, Cue, Sync and Headphone Cue for decks A and B.

Again, please be sure to set your hardware in deck 1 (left side) and deck 2 (right side).

Thanks Stewe,
I will give you the feedback as soon as possible

Hi Stewe here is the feedback:

  • Play and Cue Buttons are working fine for both decks
  • Sync Buttons are working
-Cue for headphones are working too

But evertyhing that worked before don’t work anymore:

  • All the pads don´t work
  • all the mixer buttons (filter, gain, crossfader, volume faders, etc) don´t work
  • Effects buttons don’t work
  • Auto-loop don´t work

If we join all the stuff that worked before with the new ones it will be perfect

That’s perfectly fine - I only mapped those four functions anyways to let you test the hardware.

Good to see some progress here is finally made. It means that you weren’t using the mapping provided for RB but some others (SB2 mappings probably) now we’re on a same page.

I’m going to merge this commands in to RB map where pad and mixer are already working and post the result here.
