I’m about to change my Sennheiser hd215, they served me well, but I want smaller headphones, cuz these started to annoy me.
So, I don’t want to spend more than 100 eur, and after reading/watching reviews of almost all headphones in that price range on the market, I came down to this 3 models (2 actually).
Worked 2 parties with those. Really comfortable to me.
Denon hp500
I love Denon stuff, really like the look of these, but never tried them.
A&H Xone xd 40
Actually, hp500 and xd40 are the same headphones, made by Audio Tehnica just signed by other companies. Between those two its just price the decision factor, but I would probb go for denon
Anyone used some/all of these and can give me some advice?
Sennheiser HD25’s all the way. Sorry if thats not the answer you were looking for but I swear by them. You can pick em up for about a tonne if you shop around. Mine have lasted like ten years. I’m not a fan of big earphones either and to this day havent come across anything to rival them. All I’ve replaced is the ear pads for velour ones.
edit; I might be wrong here but the ones you have listed look like they’ll break after a month or 2
I love my HD25s, my first pair were a little dodgy (think I might have trodden on them once, so it was probs my fault) but Sennheiser customer support was flawless, they just sent me a new pair and asked me to send the others back in.
Thanks for replies! I know hd25’s are unmatched. I have done few gigs with those…
When it comes to headphones, I like to buy new, not to have a headache that they are going to brake soon or so. Never mind, as I said I have checked 95% of headphones, including ultrasone, AKG, Shure and so, I’m just expecting some user exp. on denon/xone or even compared to hdj500. that is all. Thanks anyway!
Oh, and denon/xone have a metal inside head band so I would call them hard to brake
i wear glasses and my hdj 500 are a pain to wear for longer than 10 minutes.
get both models and see what fits and suites you best, keep one and send the other one back. that way you wont feel any regret afterwards .
difficult to send headphones back when you’ve ripped them out of the impenetrable packaging.
I’ve worn my HDJ-500s with sunglasses for extended periods of time and they’re very comfortable, so I guess it just depends on what shape your head is!
Hey dude I have both the Senn HD-25 and the A&H XD-40. You can’t go wrong with either one!!! I love the XD-40’s a lot bc they are so so so light. I got them bc I’m a student too and spend tons of time on my laptop listening to music while studying. I find the XD-40s to be give me the most portability with the most quality. I use both DJ’ing, just depending on what I feel like. I’ve had the HD-25’s for almost 5 years and just decided to get a new pair just for fun. Did my research and settled with the XD-40s. Super comfortable. Love them
so american online shops don’t allow you to send the stuff back, in a 30 days time period, after the purchase?
that be a no go for me, otherwise i could never test the stuff i order. you need to leave the packaging intact and only pay for the use if you scratched it or spilled stuff over it that makes it impossible for them to sell it as a new item. they still take it back though.
testing stuff at home is kinda easy in germany . just need the financial background to pay for the stuff and survive until you get your refund after returning it.
