New headphones - VModa Crossfade LP/LP2 or Pioneer HDJ1500?

New headphones - VModa Crossfade LP/LP2 or Pioneer HDJ1500?

Does anyone have any personal experience of either of these? Having just got a vci400se I need to upgrade my 10yo Numark cans!

get the hdj 2000 if u can, way better than hdj 1500. otherwise tma-1 is good in that pricebracket.
if u have a shop nearby i suggest you try them all out!

Man, for real DJing headphones. Nothing in my books compare to the HDJ-2000’s. I have HDJ 2000’s, had TMA-AI-1’s, have Beats Pro, and have used a bunch of other one’s too. I love the HDJ’s hands down, & would recommend the 2000’s 100% of the time.

I had HDJ 2000’s and currently use VModa Crossfades, I also gave a some Son 7506’s. While I agree the 2000’s are the best headphones out, the VModa’s a definitely a great pair and I dont think for the price the HDJ’s are that much better. I beat those things up and have turned out great.

Guys thanks for the swift replies. Had not considered TMA1s but will give them a listen!

If you want to be cool:

  1. technics rp-dj1210
  2. crossfade lp (what I have, bought them before I even started DJing tho)
  3. aiaiai TMA1

All of them are quality actually. I think it comes down to personal preference.

Sorry to like half of the forum but I really dislike the pioneers, but I just really dislike pioneer as a brand. Again, sorry for having unpopular opionions.

OK so TMA1 are out - prefer over ear to on ear. HDJ2000 are a little out of reach, as I found LP2s for £120. Technics, hmmm…?

Using the hdj 2000 right now on my head, probably the most sleek over-ear headphone around..
I like headphones and trying them out so have quite a few lying around.. beyerdynamics dt 770 are probably the best over-ear headphone
that exist in the pricebracket (about 160 euro i think).
You should check them out if you want bang for the buck (but design is perhaps not the most beatiful).

Tried all the above except could not find beyerdynamic, seduced by LP2’s from eBay at £100. Love them!

V-moda cross fades are awesome, can’t recommend them highly enough

Having got and used them I can only agree. They are light as a feather and punch like Tyson! Would recommend to anyone.

The Crossfades are THE most comfortable fitting headphone I’ve ever tried bar NONE including my Sony V6’s which I’m not ready to give up just yet but if comfort was my main concern the Crossfades would be my #1.

But they lacked a lil “oommph” compared to the Pio’s or my Sony’s V6 - The Pio’s are too big and bulky for my small head and ears and the TMA’s sounded like dog turd compared to either of them IMHO and I really dont see what the big deal is about TMA’s at all.

Try before you buy is all I’ll say - everyones head and ears are different and they might sound like gold to you.
