Nudging with jogwheel freezes song with no sound - S4

When beatmatching and nudging the song will just stop with no sound. pressing play does nothing, that deck just freezes. The other works. Turning the unit on and off will fix it but as is, it’s unusable. I’m updating traktor and the control manager now. Going to erase the mappings I have for 3rd party midi controllers but I’m just wondering if this sounds familiar to anybody and what the cause was and fix. Please don’t bother unless you had the same thing happen, just hoping it’s something obvious I’m missing.

osx: 10.8.5

follow up question, I shouldn’t update the mac should I?

Did you recalibrate your jogwheel?

This will happen if your S4 goes lopsided and it thinks it fell down or something.

I haven’t done that yet but I will, thanks. The unit hasn’t moved but I’ll try.

Can’t seem to recalibrate it, says to press and hold the load button for 2 seconds but nothing happens.
