Is there a changelog?
I used to be a hopeless addict for software updates.
Traktor changed all of that.

They had been requesting it in the Beta feedback posts for a while, and never got a response. I wouldn’t count on it sadly.
yup .. finally managed to download it:
anyways .. this is a huge disapointment. they have begun something interesting with the MIDI mapping, but in the current state i would say its even a minor step back, since keyboard and midi cannot interact on the same modifiers anymore.
the new effects are nice, the additional effect slots .. well not a big deal to me. i did not have key lock issues before .. there is no way to set the cache size per deck .. lets hope they fixed the associated issues.
Re: official update 1.2.1 is out
actually that was too harsh there is a lot of nice stuff in there. i guess i am just a bit focused on the midi mapping part and there they made a huge leap forward and stopped just shy of something really great ![]()
Will the current Midi mapping for the VCI-100 that is offered by DJ TechTools with the current overlay works in the new update or are there things that we need to watch out for?
Just downloaded the 1.2 update in record time via the Service Center (about 4 minutes).
Changelist is here →

I was wondering about the same issues. I just got my overlay, and it doesn’t make sense to to put it on if it’s already gonna be useless. Mods?
Any early heads up on whether the VCI-100 midi-out freeze has been cured in this release ?
Haven’t yet had a chance to get it downloaded on my test pc.
Please check the new page “Autogain Tag” on www.traktorbible.com BEFORE you edit tags with the Edit dialog in Traktor 1.2.1. Reading it will avoid frustration.
Best

I’ve just tried it out, and NO, it has not been fixed ![]()
That’s what I’m saying.
Does the 2.3 tsi from djtt work for the vci-100 with tpro 1.2.1?
I am not sure if Ean fixed all his issues since NI actually fixed some bugs with modifier handling that prevented inconsistencies in Ean’s mapping to be relevant. However there is no change I am aware of that should make it harder to do what Ean has done in his mapping. So far so good.
However there is also nothing in TP 1.2 that would help make Ean’s mapping better or more manageable, since the cool new features they have added are only half thought through. So they spend a lot of time on the MIDI mapping to essentially leave us at square one.
Autonic,
You’re saying the midi out freeze is still there ? Bummer.
Recently I decided to go without the Audio 8 and use my Alesis IO 26 as my sound card.
So far I haven’t been able to get the Update to work like that.
So, does ean’s 2.3 tsi work with tpro 1.2.1? I am really happy with the new overlay, 2.3 tsi and tpro 1.1.2. It works perfectly for me. I’d like to update to 1.2.1 but I hesitate because I don’t want to experience any new mapping issues.
OK
Had a quick 5 minute play with the new 1.2.1 and Ean’s mapping and here are the issues i’ve found so far. Bare in mind i’ve made some slight adjustments to Ean’s standard mapping so these may not apply to everyone:
Now the pitch fader has been reset and it moves the full +/- 35 over its range, meaning its not very granular the smallest step it’ll make is 0.5 or 0.6, which isn’t usable for me.
Filter. The dedicated filter knob that is part of the eq and gain section has went all funny, and now instead of turning left to low pass and right to high pass, when you go in either direction it goes through both the low and high pass.
Eq and gain. In the past i always found that the EQ in particular but also the gain were very wide ranging and that i only ever had to turn it a wee bit to have the effect i needed. This did however mean that you couldn’t really get any fine control.
To me it feels now like they have taken the sensitivity WAY down, but this could be an advantage. Feels like you’ll get MUCH finer control over these. But i’m not sure if they’ve went a bit TOO far now and whether you have enough gain and EQ. Will need to play with this one for a couple of days and see what happens.
:S
Will see what issues others come up with and then have a play tomorrow night to see if i can sort some of my main issues.

Thank you Kev. With your post and the rest of the stuff I’ve been reading on the Traktor forums it convinced me not to update right now. My system is rock solid as it is and with gigs coming up I can’t afford to risk disaster.
LOL
Just got an email from TechTools for version 2.4 of the mapping, kind of does a lot of the things i had done myself anyway with my slight adjustments but will try it tomorrow and see what happens.
It also says 2.5 will be out in a month that will be specifically for Traktor 1.2
