[OT]iPhone 5
Hey guys, so my cell phone contract is expiring and I was wondering what are you guys thoughts? Upgrade to an iPhone 4? Only thing i’m scared about is the iPhone 5 or some upgrade of the sort being released as soon as I pick it up.
Any thoughts?
there is no iphone 5 this year
apple are doing there conference later this year they will be an updated iphone 4
(like the 3gs was to the 3g) but not a new new phone on the whole
next year we will see all the new phones due to 4G wireless networks rolling out.
My question is you’re sure that there will be some sort of an upgrade? I mean it makes sense cause it happens every year but i’m just curious and trying to make sure.
I don’t want to flame or anything, but there’s no way Tommy can know anything. Every week there’s another source claiming something else about the iPhone 5. At this moment there is nothing concrete to say about it.
I also haven’t read anything about an upgraded iPhone 4, so I wouldn’t hold my breath on that one.
All I can say is that the latest news said that the iPhone 5 could go into production as late as september.

Trust me there is gonna be an updated version of the iphone 4 there will be no iphone 5 untill 2012,
i dont know how it works in the states but i would not bother upgradeing till next year just get a rolling contract if you can,as you dont want to go in to a new 18 month contract with next year only like 8 months away
there will be the new blackberry,iphone and who knows what else next year.

Sorry Tommy but I reckon you’re talking bollocks. There have been a lot of rumours about the iPhone 5 being cancelled or postponed this year, but none of them have been confirmed. The best thing you can do is just go here and try and keep up with the news on it.
iPhone 5 would suggest a significant upgrade and redesigned body which is pretty unlikely knowing Apple. More likely is a minor 2011 upgrade… an iPhone 4g, if you like.
I suspect a larger screen or a higher resolution camera.
Less likely is NFC and ‘4g’ data.
i think there might be an update, but no new phone this year.
i heard in several places that it will come next year so that the verison and att versions can be on the same release cycle
Just wait till after the Apple conference it’s in June I think maybe earlier can’t quite remember. Yes there has been speculation that there will not be a new phone announced this year but nothing is set in stone until Steve Jobs says it is. It would be just like Apple to “leak” that there would be no new phone just to announce one and create a big hoopla about it. Just my 2 cents.
Yeah I use an N900 right now, and starting last week it started acting up. Super pissed off. Last thing I needed was another expense right now. I figured if I have to make the plunge, better make the right plunge.
Yeah, that’s what i’m thinking. I hope my cell phone doesn’t completely crap out in the time lol.
I’m inclined to think it may be just an OS update and not even a new phone, but I’m just guessing. I have two phone on our family plan that are due an upgrade so I’m just sitting on those and waiting.

i have another full year till i get an upgrade from my shitty ass Droid 1. 
Based on this logic, I’m not going to upgrade to Traktor2 because I’m sure Traktor3 isn’t too far behind.
I hope it’s a new phone, cause I don’t want to wait for nothing 
. And Moms iPhone got stolen two months ago, she had the iPhone 3GS and her upgrade is open now, but she’s waiting too since there’s no reason to pick one up today and find out tomorrow that a new phone will be released.
If Traktor released a new upgrade around this time EVERY YEAR, then yes your logic would be correct. Since this is not the case, your logic is flawed.
youre proabably another 12 months away from another iphone launch. minimum.
white iphone4 is still scheduled for spring 2011. let alone iphone 5
