Places to go in NY City

Hi all!

I’m heading to New York in a month and will be staying there for around three months,
do you guys recommend any good record store, places to watch shows, night clubs?

NIGHTCLUBS: Pacha NYC, Space NYC, LAVO, Cielo, Output, and HAUS

Go check out DUBSPOT as well especially if your here on a Sunday you can make there open house as well best spot in the city LOVE IT !!!

and if you come to Long Island definitely check out LOVE Nightclub in Carle Place big DJ’s on Friday nights!!!

I will be heading to Dubspot to take some courses, also Scratch Academy (if there’s an open house)
Will be staying at williamsburg, so I think it’s easy to head to Long Island and around the city.
Do you guys recommend any nice record store to dig some Vinyls?
Also, should I bring a portable vinyl player to the record store or will there be turntables there to listen to the vinyl before I buy it?

Webster Hall!!! Tons of awesome events. My favorite is BASSment Saturdays which is as it sounds then there is Brite Nights and Boys & Girls which are Electro/Prog events. Lots of others too but those are my favorite three nights.

Checkout Output. Great sound. Great environment. Tons of really cool music too IMO.

I’d also recommend sLake. Kind of hit or miss but a good time if you catch an artist you like.

As said Dubspot is super fun and is brimming with great people. Take some weekend workshops, for the experience alone they’re worth the cost so the knowledge is just a bonus.

If you’re in Willy honestly just WALK AROUND there is so much cool shit you’ll just find too that even I probably didn’t in my few weeks there.

Like most DJs you like electronics I’d heard over to B&H Photo it’s the electronics Mega Mart of NYC. There are lots of stuff to test and try out. Personally I’d check out the speaker section that happens to house the DJ controllers as well.

Cielo wasn’t me? Haha anyway. Output.. Havent been in a while, peek their site. Webby, 10-30 entry then I don’t know about drinks. Not old enough too and Slake is SUPER similar to Webby in most every way.

Output is really popular because of the way it runs. No photos allowed, everyone looks nice. It feels exclusive without being.

It is! I prefer Webster Hall. I love the vibe there, it’s less “high fashion” and more people who just fucking love the music.

I hear there’s a really tall building that you go up and stare across the city from.
There’s a big park that the cast of Friends hang out in.

Ooh and there a massive statue with a torch.

Output is incredible Funktion One sound system, great vibes. Its not about “high fashion” Ive been to output in a Tie Dye shirt and cat whiskers painted on my face. Use Resident Advisor to find events aswell
