Heres what i need to know, as i have decided to get the S4 from my pioneer ddjt1 v ddjs1 v S4 post with the help of DJTT wonderful community (no one barf) When i look on the internet at the S4 controller it says that when you purchase the controller you get a free upgrade to Traktor 2 Pro when its released on the 1st of april. Once it comes out on the 1st april and there after will the S4 units automatically come with the new pro 2 or will you still get the upgrade (or is this a special offer to get people to buy it before april) then you’ll pay more after
It all depends where you are buying the S4 from. If you buy one from a big company like Guit Center, it will depend on how much stock is remaining in the warehouse. NI will manufacture every S4 with TSP2 on or near April 1st. I would stick to a smaller stores because they always re-order more readily.
Actually,Your best bet is to hit up a store that has it on back order at the very end of March. A store that buys direct from NI and not a distributor.
I’m not worried about the TP2 upgrade. It will come in the days around April 1st for sure.
You shouldn’t care if you will get a CD with TP2 2.0.0 or with TPS4 1.0.0. The bundled TPS4 CD is already obsolete by 1.0.1. I’d also expect TP 2.0.1 to come shortly after the initial release.
Just go and grab an unit and don’t bother with this - the bundled version on the CD will always be obsolete …
All new S4s will ship with TP2. Therefore @aviatorman it makes no difference where you get it from because you’ll either get a TP2 CD or a free upgrade code via email to download it.

Pro S4 is much closer to T2 than it is to T1. You already paid for most of the “new” features. Since the free upgrade is coming anyway, it shouldn’t make a difference if you buy it today or April 1st.
