s4 right jog wheel

s4 right jog wheel

When I unpack my s4 box today, the left jogwheel was came off. I put it back following the video made by photojojo. After recalibrate both sides of the jogwheels, the left works well, but unfotunately the right one cannot scratch at all. When I try to scratch or scroll the track, it only makes a slight movement in the track. The pitchbend is also down in the right side. Anybody can help me??? I’ve recalibrated it for several times already…

I have a video here to describe the problem.

Who ya gonna call, PHOTOJOJO!!!

Did you upgrade to 1.0.1 through the service center app that installed with the software? There’s also new drivers on there you need to install.

yes, I did even before I pluged in

^^

i am so frustrated. is there any chance that i have a defetive jogwheel?

I would have the supplier replace the unit. Yeh it sucks to wait but if the jogwheel is jacked up, who knows what else is also.

Im in europe and ordered at djtt. no way to return it

If it’s a real issue and not just a software glitch, DJTT are normally really good about paying postage etc to replace a unit. There was a guy on here who had to send his VCI-100 back like 3 times due to burnt out LEDs.

(I just replaced mine myself )

the thing is each time the s4 crosses the broad, i have to pay the tax 105 euro…

send them an email and see what they say. customer service is top notch.

I’m not sure how DJTT is handling returns, but it’s best to contact them at the store directly. I wonder if it would be easier for you just to return it to NI?

I think it is best. NI German is much closer than DJTT. I do not want to wait…

Good luck man,
“Did you make sure your doing it wrong?”

After a night, the right jog can scroll the track and scratch. BUT the freeze still happes very often like yesterday.. Whlie you scroll through the track, it will suddenly stop at a certain point for a while, then continue scrolling. The same applies to scratch function, it will immediately freeze when I try to do scratch. I’m seriously considering this is a defective jogwheel, it has nothing to do with recalibrating.

I have a video here to describe the problem.

Have you contacted them about a return?

For what its worth,
You could test your S4 controllers jogwheel in another DJing program. See if it also acts up in other software.

a very simple but a very easily over looked good idea…

I tried to get someone to do this over at NI, but never heard back from them. Set the controller to a user mapping and see if the problem persists. You can try Telly’s here.

Another thing you can try is to put the S4 into midi mode by pressing shift + browse and mapping the jog wheels to a basic function.
