Setup Plus

Setup Plus

I want to add something to my setup, just a simple little midi controller that brings great functionality. is the Korg nanokontrol any good? I use a Macbook Pro and a Behringer BCD3000 lately at least, is the LPD8 a good plus?

i have a nanokontrol mk1 and also an lpd8. the lpd8 is an awesome little controller - and i keep meaning to get a 2nd one.

the nanokontrol gives u a lot of controls for the money, just not all that robust. it does the job tho and will last so long as u treat it carefully.

the worst of the nanoseries must be the nanopad that gets loads of flak for being madly made or just not working. tho i guess this is also down to the fact that u expect to be able to hit a pad/drum controller but you’re not going to have to hit a nanokontrol.

mk2 nanokontrol adds midi led feedback and more buttons per channel but at the expense of the 9th fader.

I think I’m going for the LPD8. good choice?

can’t really go wrong with the lpd8 for the price… i paid less than 40quid for mine. 8 decent pads that work in note/cc/pc modes (pc mode is a bit useless unless u use middleware software tho) and also has 4 internal banks (tho i dont use them - just use cc+note modes)

the pots are ok, tho not as tall as on bigger controllers.

led feed back has some issues - but at least it has midi led feedback.

best bang for the buck tho imho.
