I’m new here & to the world of Digital Dj controllers & software coming from a background of CDJ’s for mixing and Ableton with a Korg nano-control for making mixes, edits, mash-ups & just recently remixes.
Overwhelmed by the amount of info & support online & YouTube. Fitting my needs & budget I am about to buy a Hercules 4 MX and have had a little look at virtual DJ and looks generic.
Need some advice & direction on Traktor Vs Serato software for the 4 MX I have not used either. Well I haven’t even used a DJ Controller before..
if you mean serato scratch live, it cant be used witha controller, you need the rane audio interface, however it can be used with traktor, personally i love traktor and have just converted a die hard ssl boy!! haha
Yeh as they said, you can’t use any of the Serato programmes with the 4MX. They may bring out support for their new DJ intro software some time, but there’s no way of knowing if or when that’ll happen.
Traktor would be your best option with that controller, but have a look at other controllers as well since you’d have to shell out another couple of hundred for a full version of Traktor Pro.
I’d recommend you look at ITCH certified controllers like the VCI-300 or Novation Twitch, since they come with professional grade software out of the box and free updates for life.
