Hey guys, a while back we polled facebook and twitter regarding which DJ headphones people would most like to see us carry. Based on the responses we received, the top choice was Sennheiser (HD-25) and the next closest was Pioneer (HDJ-1000/2000).
We had to put off our headphone exploration for a bit due to Midi Fighter production but now things have mellowed out a bit and we are looking into headphones again.
Take the poll and if you vote “other” please reply to this thread with what the other would be. We are going to take a close look at the votes so your input is greatly appreciated.
You should carry Sony MDR-SA5000’s… ha, go with the Sennheiser’s.
As much as i love my 5000’s, they are unrealistic for most djs. As most people don’t want to carry around $500 headphones. And most dj’s prefer more sound isolation. I received mine as a gift from this crazy girl, and if that wouldn’t have happened i would still have my HD25’s. Just please don’t carry the Sony MDR-V700’s, I’m tired of seeing so many dj’s using these horrible headphones.
If your only going to carry one I think the HD25’s are the most popular most recommended cans out there. If your going to carry more than one maybe look at a $99 set like the HD280’s, $150 set like the HDJ100’s, and a $199 set like the HD25’s.
ultrazone DJ1 Pro, sound is way better than pioneer HD-2k’s and they isolate better than anything!
I would have taken the Sennheiser HD-25-1/SP II but they r uncomfy on my ears, so I cant wear them 4 long, but they would be my second pick.
man those sennheisers are pretty brutal looking, They may have amazing sound but holly crap they are uneasy on the eyes…
As much as many of you despise the Sony MDR-V700s I have to say they are really good bang for buck, and apparently they’re fairly easy to do a customized paint job, so maybe DJTech could have custome DJTech headphones?!
but if I had to choose between the two options, I would go with the Pios.
The Sony MDR-7506 are my favs. I have been using them for years. I just found them on [ame=“Amazon.com”]Amazon [/ame]for only $84 new.
Would you believe that my first ever pair of headphones, in 1988, was a RadioShack brand. It was wildly popular among our local DJs because the ear cans swiveled, it had a coiled cord, and they were loud. After those were no longer available and mine finally died, I tried a few other pair before finally settling on the Sonys.
