My dream-setup is basically what I have right now; perhaps change the ol’ MBP into a new one with SSD and include another MBA with a Audio DJ2. But that would simply be the icying.

I think a NI X1 would round out my ideal rig of vinyl timecode with Traktor Scratch Pro. Wouldn’t mind either the Mono 365 or the Kondensor bag to haul to gigs. Actually, I could also really use some road cases and a hand cart.
Actually, I’d LOVE a good v-drum kit. That would be ideal. GOD I WANT ONE.

We both wana work on getting good desktops, studio moniters, we wana use ableton, what programs should I use with ableton so far I think I want massive. We want an apc40 I kinda want a monome, but I know u can map an apc40 for mlr. The goal is to produce a variety of music from down tempo to drum and bass and dubstep house, fidget.. We both love electronic music and have different favorite kinds. Anyone have suggestions. Oh a MIDI/synth, ive been thinking x station. Would it be a good idea to get some sort of multi channle sound board? Any programs for mastering? Thanks for all advice…
To all aspiring dj’s… I was guna go to school still prolly will, but im 21 moved to mammoth lakes from so cal and work at a restraunt at night and snowboard every day. U dont need to be a millionare to get what u want. between the two of us we will spend 15k on gear when its all said and done, plus money to promote ourselves and tour. But fuck it, what else are we guna spend our money on other than weed and booze and acid hahah.. maybe some led gloves and poi. Ne ways point being, take the necessary steps to live ur dream, fuck the money, id way rather have that gear than a savings!

As much as I love my VCI 100 I would like to try something a little bigger (that’s what she siad) like a CDJ but as of yet I don’t know what they are like so don’t know whether I’d like to use them or not.
Would definitely love a dedicated effects controller like the X1 and a drum machine though!

Replace the Sony headphones (had a pair…they’re ok) with custom IEMs, and I’m done. Oh, and the Mac needs to be a current model, though as long as it has FW to run the interface, I don’t really care which one.
Though, what I have now is pretty close:
(the CDJ-200s are sitting in a box somewhere…couldn’t sell them because one has a Serato sticker on it…apparently that’s a deal breaker for some people.)
CDJ’s are sweet man! I love mixing with my timecode cd’s. It reminds me of when I used to mix only with cd’s before Traktor, its just a bit easier now. You should def try to mix on CDJ’s just with cd’s, and then try timecode, its awesome. Mixing with timecode and having an X1 hooked up is even better!

It was. Something caused it to die a few years ago, and because he spent so damn much money on it (on the order of 10,000GBP) he didn’t feel like replacing it. He used some other stuff for a bit and then switched back to CDs.
I just love the layout of the thing. There’s not a LOT more that I’d want to do, even though the VCM actually has a few more controls…it just doesn’t have a built-in audio interface and it’s fitting along with this stupid horizontal format thing people have been doing lately that I just personally don’t like (aesthetically).

There was. At this point, I’m sure it won’t happen. The VCM-600 is as close as we’re going to get. And, imho, it’s really freaking good.
