I’d also like to be able to adjust pitch and BPM independently. Ability to “warp” the track key on the fly would change things fundamentally for me.
Maybe you’re looking for Keylock on (pitch) under Track Deck commands?
Integration of a Native Control Mobile App for:
- Coverflow Record Crate browsing
- Track to Deck/sampledeck Loading
- Quick Preview button with strip-search/Scrub under the track in focus
Ideally with the following included - but not really nessesary (would be handy though).
- Traktor Playlist/Gridding/Cue/Loop Point Preparation Screen like rekordbox
- Streaming from Device like Rekordbox
Why ? .. So I can just preview and load from a handheld device that I walk/dance around the box. One thing that really pisses me off with DJ software since day one is needing to search for stuff in playlists, album art made things a tiny bit better (why not coverflow ?) but would prefer the laptop was not looked at or touched at all during a set assuming the controller has enough indication of whats going on.
itunes node artwork
i can not understand nor do i believe this is cpu intensive
Better iTunes integration, more intuitive Controller Manager, Maschine integration and a Z4.
+1 Yeah Im pretty sure what you’re looking to do is already possible with the Key knob.
Not quite. I’d like to manipulate them independently of one another in order to change the key of the track and not [necessarily] adjust BPM. Make sense?
? That’s already available, the key control.
Wow, have you ever just made my day! ![]()
EDIT: Deflated: You can suck the life right out of a track with the key knob… let me revise my request - key change with a huge range that doesn’t sound thin.
It would be fantastic if they could build in some kind of scripting language like VDJ has. Sometimes I feel trapped in the Traktor box and would love to write code to extend it to do certain tasks.
They’ve pretty much said straight up that they have no interest in improving the mapping interface. I’d love to hear that this has changed but until then I don’t have much hope for better mapping, and certainly not a mapping language.
Traktor by far has the best mapping interface… for advanced users. Even to map simple controls in midi mode to my F1 can take an afternoon to troubleshoot and make sure nothing is interfering with each other. I see no reason why they can’t allow mapping in the GUI. For example, right click the play button, assign midi, press button and controller and like that you’re done. Any modifiers and additional things could be dealt with in the existing mapping interface.
Not really possible regardless of what you use, what you are basically doing when you change key is cutting the track up into small segments and stretching them out or compressing them together to change the pitch…
better mapping interface that will work something like ableton - just hit the button/ knob on screen and then on hardware
also unlocking to map the remix decks
probably an official way to connect traktor with maschine
also being able to have another 2 decks, hiding in the background, maybe for live input or something like that, would be awesome, cos we all run out of decks sometimes ![]()
This is not true. With the release of the F1 and the uproar of users who wanted the mix deck cells all mappable, NI also said to their answer, “we’ll unlock them sooner or later” that they are very much looking into improving the mapping system in a future release. If I can find the blog post, I’ll link it.
Edit: Got it.
When pressed for more details about the release of the update to the controller window (which this community has been requesting for years now) we were told:
“Now is basically the right time to have that discussion [build the open API] … for now we need to create the new controls, test and implement them. We are definitely looking into this.”
scamo
This is probably one of the first things I would like. A CDJ style without the cd player but that won’t be interesting until pioneer does it.
More mapping options. Why isn’t traktor sending by midi the track info? It would be really easier for hardware developers to get a screen on their controllers!
Level of customization! I can’t just say this enough. Traktor should be modulized. I guess that Traktor is using already a good development pattern and who knows oop based so… Why can’t it be modulized? Why should it be? The less modules active the less power the computer needs, the more stability and better interface. There is so much thing about Traktor interface, for my usage, that don’t make sense to have and then the stability / performance matter. It runs just fine and stable now but it could be better! Why can’t I have big time info on the track for example? Customization customization customization!
If I had a good C++ developer interested I would make a new software. NI is forgetting some users and usages of Traktor.

Thanks for the link - good to hear. I pretty much stopped paying attention to what NI was saying after the whole F1 fiasco so I missed this. It would be great to see improvements in mapping controllers, and that might be the one feature I’d pay money for in a new release. Other things, like more flexible beat gridding, would be great improvements as well, but as far as I’m concerned making the controller manager more usable is the killer feature that Traktor has been missing for way too long.
They gave us a resizable window - what more do you want???
