New Allen & Heath xone thingy

These days, on my bigger show/events, I can’t go under a 6 stereo inputs mixer (TSP + Maschine + Ableton running) I really like my XONE:92. Would be soo cool to have the same features (4+4 inputs + 2mic/ stereo return) + built in soudcard, some effects + more MIDI possibilities… certified or not. two USB for the soundcard?!? OH YEAH, would be sick!

So here we have the second video, which i dont know what to think about.

whereas the first movie actually give you a hint of what the new thing is, the second movie just shows a launchpad like grid with 2 knobs.

I was hoping for something that I could use to logically control 8 sample decks with. Oh well, I guess 2 Xone 1:d’s are still the perfect vessels for that.

Multi-colored buttons? I’m in.

i think i wont like the layout of the controller to much!

And you have already decided that?

I said i think!
I dont like the two rotaries there. still opened be to be blown away, but doubt it.

On a serious note, I am curious to see what the x-link incorporation will bring with this apparent controller.

be prepared; it’s not what you think it is. see you all in a few days.

I’m officially excited. Aside from the obvious conclusions one could draw from push buttons and rotaries, I wonder how x device could control the mixer and if there is a software front end to program custom controls and hardware behavior.

The lights are out to conceal that the buttons are mounted atop the new xone mechadragon.

Hmmm, headphone jack (that doesn’t appear to belong to the DB4) and stylistic video suggesting a sequencer/sampler/looper/?
X-link is a 2-way connection right?
Wonder if there is some sort of hard drive on that thing.

Can you say…ableton controller !

Maybe this is the reason why NI doesn’t want to play ball with A&H.
A&H is going after their Mashine cash cow ?

See you on saturday mate.

i have a feeling it’s xone’s version of the x1 a more compact modular controller as compared to the 1ds. it’s just a guess. therefore you can bring this around together with the db4 for a lighter and more portable set-up as the db4 itself has a lighter weight compared to other mixers.

FX sequencer for the mixer or something along those lines? Whatever it is I wish I had $5000 to burn on xone gear.

the rotary knobs/encoders shown in the video appear to be the endless push type A&H uses for loops/EFX. i.e there are no indicators. Also I thought at first the blurred out image at :23 was level LEDs…not so sure about that now.

Everyone hated the way the 3-band EQ on the DB4 is placed when we saw the first pics (myself included).
Now I am in love with that mixer

Cant wait to see what the ‘thing’ in the second video is. Hoping for a controller for Traktor (since controlling traktor with just the DB4’s midi functions is still feeling a bit off to me).

Gimme more info!

If it is a controller I just hope they use better buttons than the Xone: 1D. After using NI Kontrol buttons I couldn’t go back to anything like they used on the 1/2/3/4D.

You make me feel good just now, my x1 is coming from states this saturday
